Thanksgiving Weekend

One of my nieces, we ate all the cream cheese dip. Yum Yum!

We had fun preparing the last of Thanksgiving dinner together. My mom basically did everything. Dorias had a really good recipe to try. Hopefully we can have it again next year cause it was really good. Grapes and pecans where in it. Yum to all Thanksgiving food!

Reagan's Blessing

My Brother Dan blessed his new baby girl named Reagan. She is so little. I was lucky enough to hold her til my arm was burning. (I am a little wimpy)

Jarom didn't bring a suit jacket. He borrowed my nephew's. Jarom is a little bigger than Matthew who is 16. I love Jarom's body language here. He couldn't relax his shoulders.

The twins kept mixing up Amber (my sister-in-law) and me. It was fun to mess with them cause they mess with us. They are only 5 but look identical. I don't try to learn their names cause its fun to get it wrong. They are funny little boys.

Let the Games Begin!

My mom mowed a kickball diamond and we divided into teams and played some serious kickball. Even my brother's dog ran the bases. I held Autumn a lot cause she kept getting so many stickers in her hair.
My sister-in-law got this hat and I loved it. So I had to get me one. Not that I will really ever get to wear it in Houston...cause its 80! Luckily it was freezing in Weatherford. Anyway it is a cupcake. I love it! Thanks Kelli for your style.

Jarom is sitting on the side lines. My brother Dan tossed the ball to Jarom and it had a few stickers in it that stabbed his hand. Ouch.

Thankful Thanksgiving Turkeys

Everyone has been writing all month the things they are greatful for. I felt left out so tonight we made turkeys out of construction paper. On each finger we wrote something we are greatful for. I was shocked Jarom was all for making a turkey. It was funny watching him get into it.
Finished product!

Pork butt went on sale....so we bought 8! We eat a lot of pork and beef for dinner since Jarom is allergic to bird. No biggy, it just gets pricey he informed me. We had to take advantage. I had to cut all the extra fat off. After cutting up 8 pork butts, I am now quick and consider it one of my new skills. I did feel like a plastic surgeon doing several tummy tuck. I kind of enjoyed it. Gross right?

I love this picture casue it was only November 14th when it was taken. I was running late getting ready for church. It was the coldest Houston has been all winter. I wanted to wear a warm sweater and a plaid skirt. Meanwhile Jarom is asking which tie to wear. I didn't have time. He wears the same one all the time anyway. I said just pick one. Then on the way to church I told Jarom that I look like I am dressed for Christmas and Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet. He just sat there quietly. Then...then....as we walked into church I finally gave him some real attention. He was wearing a Christmas tie. I couldn't believe it. He said that I said to "pick one" So he did. I think normally I would have felt a little silly but instead I couldn't stop laughing. We looked like we where dressed for a Christmas program. Jarom makes me laugh so hard sometimes. He really is great.

Happy Halloween

I had to come up with a last minute costume and this was the best I could do. I went to a 'Trunk or Treat' activity with some of my nieces and nephews. We had fun getting so much candy. They are not very easy to trade with. They like their candy. :-)

Houston Zoo

I have nothing to say about this guy.
Spencer, my nephew, had fun waving at his mom as we rode by.

Nathan, on the left, is so good at wearing a hat. He found some glasses that morning (missing the lenses) and wore them almost the whole time at the zoo. I laughed every time I looked at him.

Our New Place

I want to find a few more things to add to our place but this is it so far.

More Fun in Houston

Jarom really likes water fountains. He found Hermann Park online so we went and checked it out. They had "pedal boats". In the middle of the pond was a fountain. I told Jarom we could go through the mist cause it was so hot/humid (we are going to melt this comming summer). We did it a few times and got bored. So we decieded to go through the wettest part. We got drenched. I kept my head under the cover and Jarom stuck his out. We couldn't have been more wet if we had been dipped to our waist in water. We couldn't stop laughing. Some guy just staired at us with no expression on his face. I didn't need his laugh anyway.
Us in our life jackets with who knows how much dried sweat on it from the previous occupants. So Scary :-(

We rode the little train around the park to see all the different "things to do".

NASA

Jarom and I moved to Houston, Texas about 2 weeks ago. More pics to come. We are trying to find things to do. NASA was the first thing we checked out. We really enjoyed it!
The Saturn V Rocket- The type of rocket that put man on the moon. This Rocket is the size of a football field. This picture just doesn't do it justice.

That is the "mock" area behind us where they practice training drills.

Autumn is tired.

This is the first night in our new place in Houston, Texas. We spent 2. 5 days driving and slept at several cheap hotel for 5 nights. It took 2 days to find a place to live. So stressful. I couldn't believe some of the houses we checked out. Yuck! We didn't move our things inside the first night, we waited until the next day when we had help. We slept on a partially inflated air bed. It was a very very long night. I guess all the going and going was catching up to Autumn.

Last Couple of Days at Work

I have worked at Southwest Medical Urgent Care for 5 years. I started as a nurse apprentice and when I graduated a year later I was hired as a staff nurse. I have so many stories of the experiances I've had with these wonderful nurses. They have taught me so much. So many different personalities to have a blast with. We had so many pot-luck feasts. YUM! We would laugh so hard with each other all day long. Patient's enjoyed the team work atmosphere that they witnessed at urgent care. I am sure I will never forget the knowledge, friendships, experiances I was lucky enough to obtained while working with this team! Thanks SMA!

Family Pictures

My dog is funny. I guess she likes our new family picture. Thanks Autumn!

Lake Mead

Jarom and I rented a wave runner before we left Las Vegas. The weather was so nice. I had never been on one before and we concluded that it was time! I loved it! He let me do most of the driving. I got the speed up 50mph. We rode for about 6 hours. Because I am so pale I wore a long sleeve shirt and a hat the whole time (not cute) . My legs where exposed with lots of sunblock. After 6 hours in direct sun, no evidience of a burn. I think I did pretty good.

Every time Jarom drove he wanted to ride it fast and then turn really hard. I hated this. I didn't want to be thrown off. I also didn't want to ruin the thrill he was seeking. So I convinced him to drop me off on the shore so he could ride however he wanted. He didn't last 2 min. riding the wave runner. It was funny. I did have valid fears. Earlier Jarom did convince me to jump off of the wave runner going 25 mile/hour. We both did it at the same time. That hurt!

San Diego Zoo

This is at the San Diego Zoo. The elephants get pedicures often. They use some heavy duty tools! Elephants where my favorite this year.
I think Jarom's favorite animal is the monkey...until it flung some questionable liquid towards him. It wasn't raining that day either. I think he kept looking up hoping to see a little black rain cloud...nothing but sun.

The Weirdest Funniest Situation!

So the family went on a boat excursion because Jarom loves the ocean. On the way back we noticed a bird was following the boat. Jarom's dad Jay had an apple and started biting off pieces and throwing them to the birds. This one bird would catch it too. Then all these people started to oooh and awwwe over the scene. One tourist, who barley spoke english, asked for a piece to throw to the bird. So...by the same means, Jay bit a piece off, pulled it out of his mouth, and gently handed it to they guy. He hesitantly accepted. I am pretty sure when he asked for some apple he did not mean directly from Jay's mouth. I could not stop laughing. Hands down the funnies thing we have seen Jay do.

Driving back from San Diego

Jarom likes his reeses to be as cold as possible. So gross... I could see the oil spillage in his coke when he pulled it out.

The things we do to entertain ourselves on road trips.

Charles fell asleep while driving to work

He's okay...see he's standing there. A cut to his head...cuts on his wrist...a very sore neck with seat belt marks. Thank goodness.

Congratulations!

Charles & Amber are married!
